Cheap Website Maintenance from as little as $12.50 per change! See here for details.

15.02.08

Welcome back all. 2008 has started out very busy for the crew; There has been a number of discussions with potential new clients, the setting up of Ray White offices in Bayview, BWAauto.com.au website refresh work commencing, as well as a number of system support activities for staff changes at the start of the year.

For 2008 we now also providing full custom VoIP solutions for our customers. You will not believe the savings possible from your current phone bill and the short paypack period - with bascially no ongoing support costs!

After a recent event, a timely reminder is needed to ensure you have a good backup routine in place. Even the loss of a single harddrive can cause a significant outage, with the potential to have lost critical business data also.

Call us if you need advice on how to minimise risk and ensure data can be recovered. I suppose doing alot of DR planning and recovery we are exposed to the worst situations (or hear about them), although you cannot be too cautious - all our information is on disk these days.

For all our horsey friends, it looks as though the end of EI is near. It's been tough for many during this time. This of course also means that our equestrian event online booking system will come to life again as soon as events are scheduled.

I'm also preparing for the mega racing event of 2008 - the Festival of Sports Cars Easter weekend at Bathurst in which I will be competing in the 911. Sysfig is also in discussions regarding ongoing IT involvement with event organisers into the long term. Will be interesting to be racing with some of our 'customers'. Can't wait!

Our most exciting activity during June was delivery of infrastructure sourcing and integration activities for marketing, sales and communications business Impetus TADW and the continuation of work around our Managed DR Service products. More infrastructure project work appears to be lining up for July, so things are looking rosy.

We've also managed to finally find some time to update our online portfolio thanks to our new recruit Jeffrey - welcome aboard, and over time, expect a continuous freshen-up of the site such as the Disaster Recovery solution capabilities also now appropriately presented on the site.

Hey folks, we finally completed the online entry forms for Parklea Equestrian - live today - see www.parkleaequestrian.com for details. We are also working on the new Mascot Engineering website, which we are excited about and have also recently completed their PDA solution built using MS .Net & SQL Server Mobile Edition development toolsets. Apparently the Sales team are enjoying their new toys!

Since our last report, our office moved down south in order to effectively service a new government contract. This is personally keeping me busy for the next few months, in addition to regular support activities. Although the office has moved, our support to servicing Sydney metro hasn't changed. In addition to these changes, there's been plenty of other great activities over the last few months.

In June 06, Sysfig won a significant bid to provide specialist IT services for a comprehensive IT Audit with exclusive school Wenona at North Sydney. The Audit had a focus on investigating and providing recommendations on disaster recovery capabilities, infrastructure consolidation and overall systems efficiencies. Thanks to Catherine and Jennifer for their support.

During October we had a number of new projects start. A number of additions were added to the www.calga.biz website. Another exciting activity was the start of PDA software development for Mascot Engineering. This solution provides mobile sales representatives with an efficient means to accurately record customer contact information and easily sync with the business database to ensure all leads and contact activity is recorded. Work also commenced on new design concepts for a revised Nexia Court & Co website which is to be built beginning of 2007.

The initial public pages for the new Parklea Equestrian Management website went live on the 28th May. This has got to be one of the most popular Equestrian websites in the country, and with so much competition information flowing through this site it's no wonder. Secure online event entry form and payment is in the works and ready soon - check it out at www.parkleaequestrian.com.

Sysfig managed offsite data storage service continues to grow in popularity, providing secure offsite backups for business customers. This = peace of mind and is an extremely affordable alternative to expensive tape units, tapes, loading cleaning tapes (and all that fun stuff). Please contact us if we can assist your business continuity planning.

There are also a number of upcoming web projects in the pipeline, so can't wait for these and we continue to work with new clientele in the private education sector for IT Audit work. Bring it on!

27.03.06
Quick update: Provence Resort Homes is now live! See it in all it's glory at www.provenceresorthomes.com There are also a number of upcoming projects ready to wet the appetite of our developers.

It's almost Easter bunny time, so try to keep off the chocolate until then.

23.12.05
Silly Season update: Some surprise projects come up over the last few weeks we're excited about. Work has started on a website for Provence Resort Homes, software updates for Zurich financial calculators and the continued design work for Parklea Equestrian. Our technical support and website maintenance client base also continues to grow. Not to forget also, our thanks must go to Nexia Court & Co and the Bursar Association of NSW for an invitation to present a discussion on IT Risk Management and the benefits of an IT Audit, during the end of November forum.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a successful 2006. Remember that typing and alcohol doesn't mix well, so take it easy.

Competitive broadband prices and integration of Webmail in MS Small Business Server 2003 is making it a very attractive proposition for small business to run their own mail server and gain anywhere access to either their business mailboxes or direct to the file server. Having just completed our third SBS 2003 installation within the last 3 months confirms this! This week Sysfig completed this integration work for the Equestrian Federation of Aust. (NSW branch), a system we have supported for many years. Thanks again to Wendy and her team for their continued support.

Recent projects: Final changes on the website for Calga Dohne Stud have been made - see it at www.calga.biz Thank you to Margie and Bill and good luck with the production sales of their Dohne stock. It's gotta be the slickest sheep website around!

Continuing on from recent systems integration work, this month Sysfig completed Windows Small Business Server 2003 integration work for Nevco Engineering on new HP hardware. Thanks George and the guys. There's also been the development of a online mortgage calc during September for O'Donnell software built in HTML/JSP. How's that for variety...

Well where have we been and what in blazers have we been doing?

The financial calculator project for O’Donnell Software was delivered at the end of January. These complex little Java calculators are designed into a single web package for financial planners around the country to use for a variety of estimations and wealth calculations. The package included:

Superannuation and Tax Comparisons

Education Needs

Retirement Needs

Compound Interest Calculator

ETP Tax Calculator

Exploring the Co-contribution Scheme

Employer ETP Calculator

Contribution Splitting

Thank you to David from O’Donnell Software for his support and assistance during this numerically challenging project.

We seem to be doing mostly web work lately, here’s why:

Sysfig was proud to launch the Nexia Alexander and Spencer website on the 24th March. See it at www.nexiaas.com.au

Since the beginning of December 2004 we have been working with Karen and Stuart from Tinney Equestrian Enterprises on their requirements for their new website. After much horse photo playing and a couple of added features, the website www.tinneyeventing.com was launched on 20th April. All reports indicate the new site has been well received by the Equestrian community.

The Bob Whyms Automotive website is also nearing completion ?there’s been a hell of a lot of flash integration work going on in the background. Now on to the next one...
